Real butterfly wing necklace. A huge butterfly wing with striking black patterns across clear and pale gold yellow. Carefully preserved female Birdwing butterfly wing (Ornithoptera priamus). Naturally scalloped edges are a rare treat, giving the illusion of constant movement. A statement necklace, with the extra sparkle of sunstone beaded chain. 17" necklace length, with gold rectangle paperclip chain. Spring Ring clasp. 

The wing has been preserved through an intricate process leaving it waterproof and similar in wear and care to eyeglass lenses, while retaining the delicate edges through meticulous artist skill.

All wings are ethically sourced from and for conservation.

Gold

Sunstone - natural

A captivating transparent feldspar renowned for its aventurescence, a sparkly metallic looking luster caused by inclusions of hematite, copper or goethite. Highly regarded as warm and joyful. Sometimes called “Viking Sunstone” due to historic use as a navigation tool akin to calcite and iolite. Native American legends relay it to be a solidified blood of a great wounded warrior, which carries his spirit and power.
