Create a constellation, invent one, or make something else entirely with 14 naturally varied Hidden Stars, two 5 × 7 reversible black-and-gold art sheets, constellation references, and a creative guide.
Each star formed naturally inside a cottonwood branch. No carving. No mold. No star added.
Arrange them. Move them. Follow a map or ignore it completely.
Just add glue.
Hidden Stars are naturally occurring star-shaped structures revealed when cottonwood branches are cross-cut. The star was already there — it is not carved, stamped, molded, painted, or inserted.
Each Make a Constellation kit contains 14 real Hidden Stars, selected for interesting natural differences in size, shape, grain, bark, proportion, and star definition.
Follow one of the included constellation references. Invent a constellation of your own. Arrange the stars on the black-and-gold art paper. Or use them as the beginning of something completely different.
Paint a galaxy. Draw a world around them. Add them to a photograph, map, journal page, collage, handmade card, shadowbox, or another piece of art.
There is no correct arrangement.

The story of the stars
You supply glue and any additional art materials you would like to use.
Start anywhere
Arrange the stars before gluing. Follow a map loosely, invent one, or ignore the maps completely.
Turn the paper over. Move things around. Leave space. Start again.
When it feels right, glue the stars in place.
Naturally different
No two kits are identical.
Some Hidden Stars are crisp and symmetrical. Others may be tiny, irregular, bark-edged, partial, strongly defined, or wonderfully strange. That variation is part of what the tree made.
Stars are selected for useful visual variety rather than matched size or symmetry.
Where they come from
Hidden Stars begin in naturally fallen cottonwood branches gathered near the Mississippi River in central Minnesota under ongoing forestry-informed guidance.
No living trees are cut to make the collection.

Care
Keep the raw cottonwood stars dry before use. Finished-piece care depends on the adhesive, art materials, and final project chosen.
Recommended for ages 10+ and adults. Contains small parts.
Mats, frames, glue, pens, paint, photographs, and other optional art materials shown in inspiration images are not included.
